Beetroot
Beetroot has been cultivated for a few thousand years, initially grown by the Romans. The vegetable was used in the 19th century as a cheek and lip stain due to the bright red colouring called betalain. Our beetroot is extracted from the root of the Beta vulgaris which is the beetroot that we know commercially. Beetroot is a rich source of Vitamin B6 which contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells. The vitamin also promotes the normal synthesis of cysteine, an amino acid which contributes to heart health. Beetroot is also high in Vitamin C which is required to produce collagen, a protein that is needed for a healthy blood vessel wall. Lastly, Beetroot contains high concentrations of Nitrates and Potassium which are thought to play a vital role in regulating blood pressure.

Dong Quai
Dong Quai is a small perennial plant that is native to China and Japan. The plant can grow to 3ft tall and thrives in high altitude regions. Our Dong Quai is extracted from the root of the Angelica Sinensis where it is cut, dried and powdered for use in a tablet. Dong Quai is believed to help transport oxygen around the body, enhancing blood circulation.
